An independent, unofficial build of Telegram's open-source apps for Android and Windows: people are always reachable, while channels, bots and groups stay closed until you allow them.
Telegram is hard to live without, but its channels and groups are an open door to content many people want to stay away from, and an ordinary block can be undone in a weak moment.
One decision that holds: the first time you open a channel, bot or group, the app asks whether to allow it or block it forever. An allow can be withdrawn at any time; a block is permanent, on this device and any other. That asymmetry is the whole product.
